BBC NEWS | Europe | French towns get emergency powers

There was a very lively debate over this topic at the Daily Nar Compound last night, thankfully the usual French (from France) contingent wasn't there. Despite the glossy coverage this is getting in the North American press, this is actually getting pretty bad. According to my sources, problems have been brewing for years. The question that led to such a heated debate last night was this: is it France's fault that people who come to their country and do not take advantage of the support services available to new immigrants have the right to complain when they can't find work? Or is it that the French simply opened their doors to immigration and then turned their back on them? Discuss. I'll even turn the comments on.
