The New Music Vol. 37
I think it's 37... oh well.
It seems this has been the week of the live album release:
- The Bouncing Souls Live was released November 18th. This bad boy is 2 discs of 29(!) Bouncing Souls tracks recorded live, um, somewhere
- City of Caterpillar releases some live and old demo materials for ravenous fans. Aptly named Demo and Live.
- The Mars Volta freak (or bore) people for like 70 minutes on Scabs, their contribution to the week of live releases. This has been reviewed in several magazines already and the take is not good.
- The Hives' Tussles In Brussels is a live/documentary DVD, packaged with some unreleased music videos. Sounds good to me.
- NOT a live relase, Alexisonfire and Moneen released the Switcheroo split EP, which sees each band take on tracks from the other. This has been done before (the BYO split series) with some degree of sucess. Try and track down the NOFX/Rancid split. Samples of the split here.
