CBC Toronto - TTC fares to rise as council passes budget

"...contains the expected hike to Toronto Transit Commission fares, raising the price of 10 tickets or tokens from $19 to $20. Cash fares rise from $2.25 to $2.50, but the price of Metropasses remains unchanged."

I'm still waiting to hear a reporter ask the question "Why does it cost 9 Billion [at least!] a year to run the TTC?" If anyone out there knows the approximate cost of running, say, the Tube in London, or the Metro in Paris, Email us so we can get some sort of investigative journalism going.
