The Real Loser in this... Peter's Heart

Ah. Poor Peter. His heart's feeling "a little banged up" right now. I can't help but feel reminded of that episode of Seinfeld were George finds out his old girlfriend has since "switched sides". Pardon the pun, as it were.

Seriously though, could you imagine your girlfriend pulling this sort of acrobatics and not even letting you know beforehand? Talk about a Dear John! The picture from the CBC website says it all:

So, in the days ahead, amidst all the political wrangling, the backstabbing (or "frontstabbing" as it's been called) and edge-of-your-seat budget votes, lets not forget who the real victim was today: The Conservatives? No. Stephen Harper's political future? No, although Stockwell Day could start warming up the seat beside him. It's Peter MacKay's heart. The most precious political commodity there is. Clearly, he was so blinded by love that he could not see the ambition in B-Lindy's eyes was not for their relationship to "go to the next level".
