New Music Friday Vol. 36
Yeah its Thursday. But tomorrow is a holiday for Canadians, so the segement is today, punk.
Sorry, no new music for review here this week. Just a couple of minor music news things:
- Tuesday saw a Fat Wreck Chords listening party at the Queenshead Pub. The Nar didn't attend, found out from Truth Explosion Magazine a little too late...
- The Beastie Boys have released another greatest hits album (which can't possibly be as good as The Sounds of Science). Stream the whole sucker here.
- Behind the curve again. The Dillinger Escape Plan played the Opera House last night with Hella, Between the Buried and Me and Horse the Band(listen here). Anyone who was there is welcome to write up a review in the comments section.
- Fellow Sudbury Lad and ex-Far From Heroes drummer Theo McKibon has joined The Black Maria (which features Kyle Bishop of Grade fame) The Black Maria have just finished a tour with Chevelle, and are currently planning a tour in support of Nonpoint. The band is signed to Victory Records
- Bit of bad news. Bayside, the four-piece indie rock band, have suffered a terrible tragedy. On October 31st, the band's tour van flipped after hitting a patch of ice near Cheyene, WY. The accident claimed the life of drummer John "Beatz" Hollohan and seriously injured their bassist Nick Ghanbarian. Please see the site here.
